Cashew Bechamel Sauce


(enough for 2 or one very saucy meal)

200g Cashew nuts

150ml hot water

1 tbsp mustard

1 tbsp nutritional yeast

1 tsp soy sauce

1 clove of garlic

Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1

Weigh out the cashews and then soak in the hot water for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Blend the cashews with the remaining ingredients, if it is too thin you can thicken it up by heating in a pan with a cornflour mix (1 tbsp cornflour with a little water then add to the heating sauce and cook for 2 mins).

Step 3

The sauce is ready! Add to a lasagna or use to make pasta alfredo!
